MIC 1 and MIC 2? Other Settings Tab

I was having trouble being heard so I increased the gain in both MIC 1 and MIC 2 in the Other Settings Tab. This seems to have fixed my problem, people no longer complain my audio is too low.

But it begs the question why are their two parameters for MIC gain?

What does MIC 1 change? What does MIC2 change?

MIC1 refers to the Speaker-Microphone that comes with the DB25-D and is
connected via the RJ45-Socket.

Mic2 refers to a microphone attached to the K1-
the socket at the left side of the DB25-D.

Rick,
The Radiodditty manual says the opposite of what you state, did you confuse/flip the ports? Here is what the manual says:

DB25-D Extended Manual:
MIC Gain 1 refers to a microphone attached to the K1-socket of the radio and
requires also MIC Gain 2 to be in its ‘On‘-position. MIC Gain 2 refers to the SpeakerMicrophone that comes with the DB25-D as well as with the DB40-D and is
connected via the front RJ45-Socket or the built-in microphone of the GD-88.
