First, your codeplug editor is light years beyond what Retevis (and Radioddity) have provided....thank you! I was hoping that it would help me discover the solution to the issue below...
So, I've searched the web and have interacted directly with Retevis (about a dozen times), providing them with my codeplug and even exchanging my original RT73 for a new one. They just don't seem to understand the issue and made seemingly random "try thi" suggestions.
The radio works fine on FM. While I can get the radio to work fine with my OpenSpot(2 and 3) and Pi-Star [read: simplex], I simply cannot figure out what the issue is with repeater operation [i.e., split frequency]. When I enter the same RX and TX (DMR), the radio goes to transmit immediately on PTT. However, when I enter a different TX frequency than RX, the radio doesn't transmit and displays "BS Failed" on the screen.
Our local repeater (about a mile away from me) information can be found at
https://wd1scc.us/
There, you can see that RX is 442.5 and TX is 447.5 (TS1, CC5, etc).
In the codeplug, if I set RX and TX to 442.5 (simplex), the rig transmits immediately on PTT (and I can verify that it's working by monitoring on another DMR radio).
....HOWEVER...
If I set TX to 447.5, the radio does not transmit (ie., no RED LED, no power out) and displays BS Failed on the screen.
Here's the codeplug entry (for repeater operation):
WD1SCC 1 SCC Home 442500000 447500000 TS1 TS1 5 5 DIGITAL HIGH 25KHz OFF SCC Home WD1SCC OFF OFF OFF PATCS UNCONFIRMED IMPOLITE OFF OFF 0 OFF 0 0
SCC Home is a Brandmeister TG (311658).
Hotspot operation works fine.
I've programmed several other DMR radios without this sort of problem (AnyTone, BTech, Radioddity, etc). But this issue has me stumped (and apparently a number of others have the same issue).
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks & 73
