Working with and editing the JSON file

Post by kd2wll »

I have edited the JSON file to add a few channels manually and that seems to work. Any tips David (or anyone else) on editing software? So far I have been using Notepad+ with the JSON viewer plugin on Windows any better tools recommended?

You can use the editor to export channels and edit the CSV with Excel (or any free alternatives).
The CSV is set out sorted by zone, with one channel per line. So adding new channels is simply adding a new line and increment the channel number by 1.
Likewise adding a new zone is just as easy as the first column of each channel line defines the zone that channel should be in :)

I'm currently working on adding support to add/edit zones, channels etc from within the editor so that there's no need to use CSV unless you want to do large edits or add a large number of zones or channels.
