….what is unbelievable is my mistake !

I’ve done much too quickly after having the firmware flashed, and so, by reflex , in order to read the radio via cps, I put the radio in the same «firmware update position » pushing P1 while switching it on !!!!!

It is like inverting the positive and the negative plugs !

…now I am the one needing 2 coffees !

Yet, I used to play with many many dstar, fusion, dmr repeaters, hotspots, and digital radios for years !

Sorry for the trouble.

Cheers

Hi Dave,

I've just bought a RT73. Everything was working well by factory. I tried to update to the last firmware following every steps and procedures recommended. During the process, I received an error message (fail message), and now, my RT73 doesn't turn on anymore. :-( Just DFU (Power Button + P1) mode is working. I guess the only solution now is a recovering procedure or a "reset tool" (maybe the tool mentioned by you above). I don't know how to do that. Could you help me here? I think the internal memory was corrupted and now the start (to turn on) isn't working for that reason. If you want to e-mail it, fell free: igormiguel777(at)gmail(dot)com.

I appreciate any help!

73,
Igor

Did you follow the official update guide?
https://www.ailunce.com/blog/How-to-upgrade-Retevis-RT73-firmware

Try to use another firmware file as the file you have may be corrupt. If the firmware update fails then the radio will not power on.
Try to update with an older firmware first and then if successful you can try the latest firmware again.
