GD-88 no receive volume

Post by gailey4 »

Just got codeplug working and listeners can hear me like I am sitting next to them. Volume is turned all the way on CPS and radio, just nothing heard. All icons working, just no sound heard. Any suggestions?

Have you set up RX Groups and selected them on each channel?

Unfortunately this radio doesn't work like the Anytone radios, where it will automatically receive from the contact/talkgroup that the channel is set to.
You must create RX Groups and assign them to each channel, otherwise you will not receive any audio (unless you enable promiscuous mode)
You'll see the green indicator that it is receiving a signal but won't play audio.

There is two ways you can set them up, depending on how you have created your zones/channels;
Create an RX Group with all your talkgroups and assign that RX Group to all channels.
or
Create an RX Group for each talkgroup and then assign the relevant one to each talkgroup channel.

For example, in my codeplug I have an RX Group for each talkgroup.. plus the "ALLTG" which contains most of them, which was used as a "receive all" before promiscuous mode was added to the firmware so isn't really required anymore.

Then in my channels I have each talkgroup on a separate channel with the "Contact" and "RX Group" set for each one.
